Found this on imdb.com. Fantastic.
“Welcome to the American National Biography Online”
“The landmark American National Biography offers portraits of more than 18,700 men & women — from all eras and walks of life — whose lives have shaped the nation.”
But only 2,700 of the listings are women.
“The life of a nation is told by the lives of its…”
Men.
I don’t even know where to start with this shit.
Um, she’s a doctor.
Yes, doctors can wear whatever they want, but this particular character is not dressed to express, she’s dressed to sell a TV show.
It reminds me of the part in Bossy Pants when Tina Fey shows the studio exec her original cast list for 30 Rock, and he tells her that there’s no one there who he’d want to fuck.
This image tells me that a woman can be a doctor on TV, but she needs to be a fuckable doctor.
“Do your sandy butts come with the cabin?”
I’m calling bullshit on this cover. Degrading to both women and men. Disappointing when the body issues have such positive images of sexuality and athleticism, instead of this sex-as-trophy hokey drivel.
This is what a woman hero wears, and this is what a man hero wears.

Visuwords.com maps out synonyms of a word. It pulls the synonyms from Princeton University’s WordNet. I was surprised to find “madam” and “brothel keeper” listed as synonyms for “businesswoman.” “Pimp” did not come up when searching “businessman.” Thank you, Princeton University, for reminding us that the only entrepreneurial enterprise for women is sex work.
